A key strategy for teaching French IN FRENCH is to use a visual cue to indicate when you are speaking which language! If we switch from English to French all the time, students learn that if it is important, the teacher will repeat it in English, so they don't feel the need to listen! I teach all period in FRENCH until a 2 minute check-in at the end. I ONLY SPEAK IN ENGLISH when the sign is in English!
